'The Elixir' Test paper-SOMMELIER II

On the basis of a written examination, Mr.Ashith Pinto of II semester NCHMCT was crowned as the ‘Sommelier II'. Mr.Deexith D'souza grabbed the II prize.

‘Mocktail Challenge’ during ‘Aroma 2011’

During ‘Aroma 2011’, the Elixirites set a mocktail challenge infront of the guests.The guests had to prepare a mocktail which was judged by Mr.Amar Cherain.23 guests participated for the same.

‘Ganadores’-‘F&B Service Quiz’

This intercollegiate competition was conducted on at SIHA Seminar Hall by the Elixirites.The term ‘Ganadores’ is a Spanish word which means ‘Winners’.8 team registered and only 4 team were able to enter the final round of ‘Ganadores’.The quiz comprised of 5 rounds namely, The Basic Round, Wines of the world, Spirits of the world, Cocktails of the world and The Visual Round.On the basis of the overall performance, team members of Vijayalakshmi Institute of Hospitality Sciences, Mangalore were declared as ‘Ganadores’ 2011.

It's Cocktail

The history and the ingredients of 17 cocktails were revealed through a one day cocktail exhibition titled ‘It’s Cocktail’. The cocktail counters were set in SIHA Training Restaurant and the elixirites witnessed guests approaching them with the queries about the cocktail.Martini, Pousse Café, Cuba Libra, Margarita, Manhattan, Gimlet, Margarita, Pousse Café-B-52, Screwdriver, Sidecar etc. were few cocktails that were part of the display.The counters of Nazim Naseer and Deexith D’souza along with Dilan Thomas and Nidhikrishnan were selected as the best counters of ‘It’s Cocktail’.
